My Intellectual Background And Pieces of a Bio – Part II
_________________
Background
My life began in Brazil, an emerging country in the South America with US$ 1tn of GDP (nowadays higher than that) against the USA with US$ 14 tn, and 4.35 thousand miles far from New York City. The problems are well-known once the business environment had been for long quite tough. In Brazil the Southeast is richer than the North. And I had lived and was raised due to my family’s mindset in the Northeast region of Brazil over the years, a small village, similar to the Central Africa’s economic data or India, and 1.3 thousand miles far from São Paulo, the biggest and richest city of the country. So there was my childhood.
At the very beginning my life was somewhat problematic. My father abandoned his family when I was 4; my mother, when I was 12, for different reasons. I was reared by a foster parent or nonofficial father-in-law and a grandmother by my mother’s side, of whom I try to help to take care nowadays.
My extended family is big, what could let me feel safe and protected in my childhood but is worldwide spread (before the easy access to airplanes and the Internet this was an enormous hurdle) and with an uncommon culture in the region. While my nuclear relatives were communists (that is something common in Brazil until 2003 after Lula’s election) and naturally financially in troubles, my extended relatives were normal free people: Lawyers, Doctors, and Entrepreneurs. There was, therefore, an ideological wall between “us” built by my nuclear relatives.
In relation to them in very positive terms I was sharply influenced by a culturally international environment, Jewish, military in terms of discipline, and immersed in Economics and Finance, among many other realms by my own.
About Me
I am a classic self-taught, the way I discovered to survive in Brazil. My expertise is more ample than my current academic titles show for awhile. In the Northeast of Brazil we do not have the perfect tools for a huge global progress as I was looking for. I decided to study harder with no support of an institution. I am tempered by civilization, luxury and high standards. Everything which is the best in the world or wants to be one of them always lured me. And I had built the best principles and values despite the environment: perfection, loyalty, innocence, gratitude, purity, honesty, openness, ambition, cooperation, partnership, generosity, confidence, optimism, creativity, discipline and prosperity.
Self-Education: Focus and Performance
During my childhood and adolescence (from 4 to 14 years old), I had studied through specialized magazines and courses for children these realms: Mechatronics, Design, Painting, Architecture, Sculpture, Landscaping, Physics, Astronomy, Fashion Design and Interior Design. This is definitely not common in Brazil. From 14 to 22, it was not a good period.
When adult, I had studied almost all the books list disclosed by the Rio Branco Institute [6], from 2003 to 2008 (22-26) –during such a period by building a library valued at US$ 7,800 (too much for the Brazilian Economy Purchasing Power Parity)– [7], in a former desire to be part of the Brazil’s diplomatic corporation, Government, the IRBr, yet due to the characteristics of the job, to a slight cultural and economic shift in Brazil, and to an instinct saying I would be able to offer much more to the world, I changed my action on behalf of the free market (something absolutely uncommon in Brazil, and even more in the Northeastern side since then). Many of my friends there became public servants like I would be.
Later I had studied fields in regard to Business and Diplomatics, however much more technical and pragmatic, such as: the Financial Market, Linguistics, Speech, Rhetoric, Latin [newbie] and Math (via Kumon), Social Psychology, Anthropology, Sociology, Philosophy and Political Science [also buying cutting-edge books, borrowing them from Doctors or reading them in the library at UFES, one of the best in Latin America thanks to a partnership with Petrobras, a Brazilian oil giant.
Along with my research and studies I have my own modelings and algorithms, innovations, as a result of my free academic action over the years [8] (See on Alfp™). I deal efficiently with words, numbers and aesthetics. I understand the market and people on the globe.
Read in 2008 in the Plain World by the journalist Thomas Friedman, Bill Gates said it was better to be a genius in a remote village in China than an idiot nearby New York thanks to the Internet. I am one of those “anomalies”, I may say. I was “born” in 2000. The internet came to our village in 1998. In 2005 (25 years old) I had built my background with the knowledge of the best schools in the world about business and economics: Wharton School of Business, LSE, Harvard Business School, Bloomberg, Strategy+Business, McKinsey Quarterly, ManagemenTV, The Economist, CFO, HSM, BBC, HBR, NYT, WSJ, FT, Mundo SA (Brazilian Television), FGV (Brazilian Magazine) and Conjuntura Econômica (Brazilian Magazine). Additionally I had studied many textbooks, academic papers, and journals of Management offered for free by Petrobras at UFES. This is endless.
Along with those sources of information, I keep myself informed through Senate Tv (Brazilian broadcast), Globo News (Brazilian broadcast, a copy from CNN), TV5, Deutsche Welle and CNN en Español, and readings of a few international newspapers like: Foreign Policy, Foreign Affairs, Le Monde Diplomatique, Courrier International, NYT, BBC, FT, Economist, WSJ, and The New York Review of Books.
The Entrepreneur
Now I am a businessman that started that indeed between March and November 2008 (26 years old). Before that time I had usually worked just to survive and to buy my books for the said diplomatic career in Brazil. But I felt in love for the entrepreneurial life: the starting up companies and developing new projects. I am always in search for companies, JV’s, products, services, partnering, private equity, consulting, and so on. Very open-minded.
I also apply my energy politically by focusing always on the best principles and values in the market: faster expansion, innovation, respect for people’s ideas and excellence in global scale. I help friends achieve their dreams. The multiplication factor.
I had shared experiences with small, medium and big businesspersons in different States of Brazil and abroad: Espírito Santo, Minas Gerais, Paraíba, Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Paraná, Brasília , Rio Grande do Norte, Budapest (Hungary), New York City (the USA), and in my own practice since 1989/1993 (7/11 years old). Since Q3 2010, I have been working with people from all over the world.
Toyotist and economist by passion, creating wealth in knowledge, services, brands, and in products of high technology, searching for companies in the US or in any part of the world, seeking for brilliant minds around the world in underdeveloped stage or not and joining with them. I am also studying focused on Harvard, NYU, MIT, or the London School of Economics and Political Science.
My social network in Brazil used to be the group Diplomaticas, a group of diplomats from Brazil, of the Diplomat Dr Paulo Roberto de Almeida, AJEL, Acauan Group™, Interconexos, Technical Analysis, and Political Economy Brazil by the Prof Dr Carlos Pio from UNB [2006-2009 (24-27 years)]. I have an excellent network with multimillionaire friends in China, Europe, Argentina, Brazil and the US (in expansion and reconnecting)(from 26 years old to now).
I have plenty of professional abilities: my striving for excellence, focus, discipline, average of 16 hours of work per day and seven days a week (I had beaten 27 hours and I don’t want to do that again) and precision, as well as creativity, instinct, strategy and great responsibility. My brain has peculiarities. While for some the work exhausts themselves, for me it is like fuel and bonfire: every step forward gives me more stimulus to go ahead. I also have synesthesia in relation to ideas, words and numbers, thoughts. I can see masses with weight, color, shape, density, and this lets me able to manage easier my analysis, both in speed and in the selection of the relevant information. There is no science or knowledge harder enough. I can grasp them and remodel in weeks or months: from new languages to the common sciences.
I repute myself as a graduate from a top-school of US in the sense that I realized in October 2003 that the Internet had “planned” the information around the world and I took that in favor of my own education, despite the flaws in Brazilian educational system by reading and studying everything that was the best on the planet.
As a writer I can’t stop myself. I used to write on Parlamento de Vidro [9] and now on Ninego 鱼™.
The End
My target is to go to Harvard or any high level institution in 2013, MBA in Finance, simplifying my mind-set and covering issues I had bypassed for lack of attention or then lack of need. I have two letters of recommendation (a PhD from Stanford and Professor of UCLA Carlos Alberto Torres, and an MBA from Chicago Mr Julio Daniel Kaplan Novick).
I am inspired by many people like Eike Batista (German-Brazilian entrepreneur), Evan Williams, Biz Stone, Jack Dorsey, Dean Kamen, Warren Buffett, Charles Munger, Carlos Ghosn, George Soros, Antônio Ermírio de Moraes (Brazilian entrepreneur), Michael Eisner, Will.I.Am, Bono, Sergey Brin, Steve Wozniak, Larry Page, Xuxa (Brazil), Silvio Santos (Brazil), Ana Maria Braga (Brazil), Oprah Winfrey, Delfim Netto (Brazil), Jô Soares (Brazil), Katsuaki Watanabe, Hans Zimmer, Pablo Picasso, Jeff Koons, Oscar Niemeyer (Brazil), Paulo Coelho, Schumpeter, Friedman, Ludwig von Mises, Rosa Nogueira Romano (Brazilian Entrepreneur), John Chambers, Steve Jobs, Bill Gates and Jack Welch, and many many many, mainly those who created something new and helped thousands of people improve their skills, talents and lives.
In a broader view I am an easy-going person, charismatic, polite, open-minded and independent, euro-american in terms of principles and values, and an enthusiastic of the free world. And I am ready to go. The end. Let’s go?
Remarks
[1] Business Engineer™ [Yewu™]: This is a market concept and work-in-progress developed and coined by me between September 2006 (24) and 2010 by adding various sciences or fields, and careers into just one unique platform, and this itself being evolving in international scale from 2010 on. The base of this concept was my 20 years of work in Brazil. The kick-off was an article I wrote in September 2006 about “The Articulator” (focused on the Northeast of Brazil, the poorest region of Brazil, and written in Portuguese about the new challenges that we would face). Afterwards I underwent a laboratory-experiment as a go-getter (26) [2008] in a peripheral city in Brazil. The stress, the pressure, and the angst let me bring together every science, data and information I had studied for all over the years in my life time and to form a single mass of knowledge from it. This was absolutely of my strategic intent, and I was looking for that feeling.
This concept [See a simple map] under the protection of the business engineering™ and Yewu™ brands consists of: venture capitalism, business angel, value-investor, [IF9℠], [GH9℠], high performance tactic and strategy, visionary entrepreneur, idea generator, business builder, value-investor and investor itself, speculator and strategist, among many others. Other new concepts are being developed and attached to it accordingly to the increasing of my knowledge and background in the international market, what I have been doing in depth since 2011: New Financial Design℠, Brand & Identity [existing], Brand Manager, Advanced Business Architecture℠, High Level Strategical Solutions℠, and CM℠.
After finishing the modeling of that concept I will write an article about it publicly defining the details and organizing the mass of information I had created. In Brazil this mass of information was absolutely relevant so far. Currently I am working to provide the world with something relevant, too. Some labels are currently under construction. You may think you may know the content, but maybe not.
In this reasoning, I also developed a methodology in November 2008 (26) adapting the ‘startup concept’ from the USA to the peculiarities of entrepreneurship in the emerging markets, especially in Brazil, where the bureaucracy is one of the heaviest in the world, and quite risky to the leader of an organization. The methodology is very simple itself lightening 7 categories of startups from [z1℠] to [z7℠], the ultimate phase. I had just simplified even more the tasks the entrepreneur has to do in order to accomplish a successful implementation nullifying most of the risks. It has been working. It is under analysis on my portfolio the Yewu Foundation, an idea, an entity to provide people with the tools for creating careers and jobs focused on their local needs.
[2] The UFES, Federal University of Espírito Santo [Southeast of Brazil], includes currently 19,000 students. Paulo Antonio de Sousa, a well-known physicist at NASA, in the USA, and Miriam Leitão, a well-known journalist of politics and economics with national fame, a celebrity, Globo (Brazilian Broadcasting), were some of the brilliant heads out there.
[3] Acauan Group™: ‘Acauan Institute’ for 4 years; Acauan Group in 2011. This was the 1st Think Tank in the world to be completely electronic, the first of the North and Northeast of Brazil, and one of the first in the whole country. That region, the Northeast, currently represents 53 million people and 1.5 million km²; the North 15 million people. The former Acauan Institute, now the Acauan Group in its first phase was an organization with a business model focused on newbies, recent graduates, and on the city, a small village with 700,000 people, 110,000 of them low middle class or poor (in relation to the USA’s economic data), all the rest very poor, and 1.3 thousand miles far from São Paulo. Due to my work and to those’s of the stakeholders of the highest performance, currently members aged between 28 and 38 years old who were gathered together gradually, we had covered the city, then the whole State, and now all the region, and we are running that focused on my newest final concept ‘The Light Belt Zone’™, developed in 2008 but not yet officially launched. We are open to new people around the world, specially from South Europe, Middle East, South Asia, Africa and Latin America.
We became global in less than 24 months in advance of plans, from 2014 to 2010. We have been attaining our mission with low pressure and getting higher results. Its members until February 2012 are: PhD Cristiano Almeida (Civil Engineer), MS Felipe M. B. Gadelha (Financial Consultant, Farmer and Economics Professor), PhD Andrea Porto (Geographer), PhD Marcelo Alves S. S. (Attorney of the Republic in the Northeast of Brazil), BA Javiera Tudela G. (Public Administrator in Chile), LLB Diogo Maia M. (Lawyer and Politician in the Northeast of Brazil), and MS Bruno Vieira (Manager and Private Equity Analyst).
[4] Alfp™: My second initiative on the blogsphere. In the first year statistics: 30,000 direct potential readers, mainly Brazilians who live abroad – 10 minutes of time on average on the blog – income range 10-30 thousand dollars per month [estimated] – Brazilians, Europeans and Americans – students of high performance, self-employed people, CEO’s and diplomats [estimated]. This data was based in the Analytics and my marketing via business cards. Alfp is the name and logo of my old consulting business in Brazil focused on the base of the pyramid under the protection of this brand, developed by me, following the aforesaid doctrine from [z1℠] to [z7℠]. Moreover, I think that it was one of the first blogs in the world about high performance academic content, along with that of the Brazilian diplomat Dr. Paulo Roberto de Almeida (when both did not know each other). The content must become a book; and its brand, perhaps a magazine.
[5] Ninego 鱼™ is my latest Brand creation. Developed in the truly international environment in Q4 2010, that Brand is the most competitive to work as my GBEA, my global business engineering™ agency, the first in the world. In just a couple of months, 4, after defining my tactic and strategy, I was running operations, within a worldwide network, amounting through my clients at that time an elusive number of US$253.4 bn. Should I can rebuild by memory my execution, the phases happen as follow: 1k in the first month, 200k in the next week, 1 million in the next month, 100 million, 2.8 Billion, 2.9 Billion, 133 Billion, 185, 194, 230, 253.4. I have my own projects and my own patents (I have them in my panel) and have business models I had created and keep creating more.
So, back to the elusive number, after careful attention, research and study, many of those products or projects were deleted due to improper or, simply put, misleading information, and I got an expertise on Due Diligence, discovering new sectors and opportunities between the real market and the “ghost market”, a term I coined to call those products and services traded daily that simply do not exist (!); they think they are trading in fact. Some were, in fact, scams. I saved all my network from problems; nobody lost any dime or time (just seconds of the second). I’m currently doing Due Diligence in more projects, keeping myself learning and inspecting.
I am a person quite similar to Steve Jobs, from Apple, quite pedantic, but a little different in tastes. I love technology, sciences, politics, branding, creativity and to share tasks and results with close and trustful stakeholders after careful due diligence. Some I already knew for long. I am always open to expand my network, specially because new challenges demand new people. Website (www.ninego.net) Blog (www.ninego.biz) Facebook Page(http://on.fb.me/iu7von).
Yewu™: Executive Technology, The Process 1- Processing of Diffused Information 1.1- (M) 2- Analysis and Hermeneutics of Background and Foreground 2.1- (Y,…) [Definition of Vision] 3- Ideia Generator 3.1- (*) 4- Design of Concepts (Nullification of Risks) 4.1- (Y,…) 5- Architecture and Modeling (Nullification of Risks) 5.1- (Y,…) 6- Execution (of high pressure) (876.000x) leveraged than the old normal. 6.1- (R)[6] The Rio Branco Institute is a type of “Harvard” of Brazil and part of the Federal Government. Perhaps every disciplined student dreams of getting into there. Not everybody, of course, because it only offers just one graduate course: Diplomatic MBA. I was one of them. 10,000 students in hard and exhaustive exams during 5 months vying for 80 or 100 seats. But I decided to play in different fields. I got afraid of falling in love for the career and never would that let me try to be an entrepreneur, something I could only do in my earlier stages of life. And I was absolutely right, despite how harder it was!
[7] These studies were: technical Portuguese, English, French, Spanish, Human, Space and Economic Geography, History of Brazil and West, International Politics, Economics, International Relations, Constitutional Law, Administrative Law of Brazil, and International Law. In this way each subject was subsequently compared with that of experts in each specific realm. I premiered a lecture for students of International Relations at an university in the Northeast of Brazil by showing them how I could build a strategy for studies of high performance in just three years. I was before that in the absolute 0 point. Those who knew me before that time got “embarrassed” due to my leverage educational gains.
[8] See: Alfp™ [opened in 2007 (25 years old)] and Parlamento de Vidro™ [opened in 2009 (27) and shut down in Q1 2011]
[9] Parlamento de Vidro™: Design developed by me, this was the 1st blog which I unveiled in 2005 (23 years old) when I was still a student in the university, as a way to express my free production and popular, shut down in 2005 [165 visits in three months]. It had a focus on the progress of the normal activities of UFES, a State university from Brazil, in order to prevent it from strikes (quite common in Brazil during that period), my practice as a writer and the advertising of the brand Parlamento de Vidro [at that time I made a simple tactic by correlating pamphlets at the university to the blog within the social network Orkut (that was the first social network developed in the world in 2003, in East Europe, and mostly used by Brazilians and Indians), targeted only onto students and teachers of UFES]. I restarted it in January 7th 2009 (27) luring more than 7,000 visits in less than 12 months (a number three times higher than estimated for this type of specific content in Brazil, and although not being the core business of the blog (the increase of visitors), 1 contract, the negotiation of a second, 3,000 of texts of quotes, slogans, lessons, models, analysis and forecasts, and tens of algorithms for go-getters from the emerging markets. This was the 1st blog in the world to talk about ‘ideas’, ‘love’ and ‘money’ in correlation, the 1st in the world to be a business open agenda and schedule, the 1st business blog with open innovation and crowd-source purposes, the 1st in the world to combine the book (ongoing), ebook and blog (shut down), and the 1st in the world to share dividends with people who commented there. It was considered by friends in Europe, US, Taiwan, South America, India and Brazil as one of the most beautiful blogs. I achieved quality in the form, content and implementation in less than 12 months. In 24 months there were 21,000 visits and 5,942 texts in a daily basis.
